Chris Zweifel likes to “figure stuff out.” As a licensed professional and structural engineer in numerous states, he enjoys the challenges of different projects and coming up with designs that are robust yet contractor and budget friendly.
He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering both from Brigham Young University.
He chaired the American Concrete Institute’s Committee 334 on concrete shell design and construction from 2006 to 2013. He is still an active committee member.
ZZ Consulting started in 2002, specializing in structural engineering design, including commercial buildings, schools, gymnasiums, churches, storm shelters, bulk storage facilities, apartments and single-family residences. The company was founded by Chris Zweifel.
So what sets him apart from other engineers?
“I try to turn things around quickly for the clients,” he said. “Also, through college I worked for a general contractor and that gave me first-hand knowledge of the building process. Having a construction background gives me an eye for constructability and detail for what will be effective in the field and be contractor friendly.”
Chris Zweifel likes to give back. He has had the privilege of doing structural evaluation in Indonesia and structural design of replacement buildings for dormitories destroyed by Hurricane Matthew at an orphanage in Haiti. He plans to do ongoing work for Project Hope.
He is an active member in his church and he enjoys opportunities to help and serve others.
For more than 10 years, ZZ Consulting has provided professional services to our organization. We especially appreciate the firm’s competence in reliable analysis, and the creativity for designing multiple pathways toward solutions. This allows us to optimize on constructability, which is a very valuable service for our business.
